Bachelor of Science

Chemical Systems

What is a Chemical Systems major?

The Chemical Systems major provides a broad understanding of science in chemical engineering. Chemical engineering involves industrial-scale processes in which materials undergo chemical or physical changes to produce the products we need for everyday life. These include pharmaceuticals, metals, fuels, plastics, paper, fabrics and biochemical processing.

The knowledge gained in this major will allow graduates to rigorously integrate fundamental science in chemical engineering concepts to provide accurate information and optimum solutions to practical problems involving basic chemical processing systems.

This system major can lead to a professionally accredited Master of Engineering (Chemical) or a Master of Engineering (Biomolecular).

Studies in this discipline are also available via the Bachelor of Engineering.
