Students who have undertaken the Electrical Systems major will be able to rigorously integrate the fundamental mathematics of systems, signals and information with the fundamental sciences of electrical devices, materials and media in the formulation and solution of practical problems involving electrical systems.
This major will give the basics of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, which involves the designing and building electrical and electronic devices on all scales, from transistors smaller than the head of a pin, to the statewide power grid. Electrical engineers also design electrical systems for high technology applications such as spacecraft, satellites and electrical energy.
This system major can lead to a professionally accredited Master of Engineering (Electrical) or a Master of Engineering (Mechatronics).
Studies in this discipline are also available via the Bachelor of Engineering.
