Scholarships

To celebrate the introduction of the six new undergraduate degrees in 2008 inaugural "New Generation Awards" will be offered to high achieving school leavers. If a school leaver achieves an ENTER between 98 and 99.85*, in an Australian Year 12 program 2007, and chooses to enrol in a new undergraduate degree in 2008, they will automatically be awarded $AU2,500. This one-off cash payment may be used for study related expenses, relocation to the University or towards tuition fees.

* Year 12 students who achieve an ENTER of 99.9 and above are eligible for 'Melbourne National Scholarships'.

The Melbourne Undergraduate Scholarships Program is one of the most generous and comprehensive programs in Australia. The program recognises the outstanding achievement of students from across Victoria, interstate and overseas.

The University of Melbourne also acknowledges a special responsibility to provide higher education access to those students who might otherwise be excluded by socioeconomic, cultural, geographic and/or other circumstances. Up to 200 Melbourne Access Scholarships are also on offer to Indigenous Australians and students from a broad range of equity groups who have experienced ongoing circumstances which impact on their preparation for university study.
